  • It focuses on agrarian infrastructure which is very important because there’s considerable loss of agriculture products due to lack of the same.

  • It will also focus on reducing the dependence on imports of edible oil.

  • The Schemes/Missions focuses on generating & reinforcing the infrastructure of production, reducing production cost and marketing of agriculture and allied products.

Drawbacks

  • Low & marginal farmers cannot afford high-end technology.

  • The R&D sector of India is already ill funded & has a lack of resources, therefore there is a lack of researches in the agriculture sector.

  • Due to fewer jobs in other sectors the dependence on the farming sector is increasing.

  •  Due to restrictions such as land leasing & acquisition, getting land for setting up agriculture marketing is very difficult
